Working with you to tackle antisocial behaviour
Everyone should feel safe and comfortable in their home and neighbourhood. That’s why we take reports of antisocial behaviour (ASB) seriously and work closely with customers and partners to help tackle issues when they happen.
Antisocial Behaviour Awareness Week
During the recent Antisocial Behaviour Awareness Week, colleagues from our Safer Neighbourhoods Team were out and about across the North West speaking with customers, sharing advice and working together with local partners to tackle ASB.
In Lancashire, we supported Operation Centurion, a partnership approach that brings together housing providers, local councils, police and support services to help protect people who may be at risk.
Over in Greater Manchester, we joined a community safety stall at Morrisons in Rochdale. This gave local residents the chance to ask questions, get advice and find out how to report concerns.
And in Merseyside, we joined a partner walkabout in Kensington to listen to residents and share information about support.
Listening to your views
We know that antisocial behaviour can have a big impact on your life. We also know that when you report a concern, you want to be listened to, kept updated and told what will happen next.
The Onward Scrutiny Board, a group of involved customers, recently looked closely at our antisocial behaviour service. Board members spoke with our Safer Neighbourhoods Team, reviewed our performance and gathered feedback from 181 customers.
The Board made seven recommendations to help improve the experience of customers reporting antisocial behaviour. These include making our letters clearer, improving communication during a case, strengthening the support available when you first contact us and making sure you know what will happen next.
We are now taking these recommendations forward through an agreed action plan and will continue to share updates on what has changed because of your feedback.
