We have more than 3,800 homes across our housing schemes for over 55’s in Lancashire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Cheshire.

Here, you’ll find more information about these schemes.

If you are thinking of moving home but would like something more secure and manageable with the company of others, sheltered housing could be the move for you!

Our sheltered housing schemes offer specialist self-contained accommodation for those who want to carry on living independently but with discreet support in place. Our schemes are usually a group of apartments situated within one complex that offers a range of communal facilities.

We have over 60 sheltered housing schemes located across the North West and, as a minimum, these all offer a:

  • Dedicated scheme manager
  • Communal lounge, kitchen, and laundry facilities
  • Easy access to local amenities and visiting services
  • 24-hour digitally enabled emergency systems

Unlike a residential or nursing home, our sheltered housing schemes are independent, and privacy is always respected. You are welcome to come and go from your apartment as you please, and friends and family are welcome to visit at any time.

We understand that everyone’s needs are unique, so whether you’re looking for additional support right now, planning for peace of mind in the years ahead, or seeking the best environment for a parent or grandparent, one of our housing with care schemes could be the right fit.

Our housing with care vision is all about enabling independent lives at every stage of later life, backed by flexible support when and how it’s needed. Our approach is rooted in the five ways of wellbeing, each tailored to support physical, emotional, and social health.

  1. Safety and comfort. Modern, thoughtfully designed facilities that provide peace of mind and security for residents and families alike.
  2. Opportunities to learn and grow. Try new skills, enjoy hobbies, and embrace lifelong learning, whatever your age or experience.
  3. Stay connected. Build new friendships, keep in touch with family and friends, and be part of a welcoming, vibrant community.
  4. Personal health and lifestyle. With on-site support, care, and wellness activities, residents can thrive and maintain independence.
  5. Financial confidence. Access helpful advice and practical information from our team to make informed decisions for the future.

At our housing with care schemes, you or your loved ones can relax knowing you have the freedom to enjoy life your way. Should extra help or personal care be needed, now or in the future, our personalised support packages ensure the right level of care is always close to hand, giving families reassurance and residents confidence to focus on what matters most.

Whether you or someone you care about is seeking immediate support or simply looking ahead, our dedicated scheme managers and friendly on-site care teams are here to design a support package that fits.

As a minimum, all our housing with care schemes include a:

  • Dedicated scheme manager
  • Communal cafe, lounge, kitchen, garden, and laundry facilities
  • Easy access to local amenities and visiting services
  • Guest rooms
  • 24-hour digitally enabled emergency systems
  • Automatic communal entrance doors with CCTV monitoring
  • Lifts to all floors
