Customers have their say on future of social housing

Residents have their say on Social Housing Green Paper

Onward customers were recently given the opportunity to submit their views on the government’s Social Housing Green Paper.

Published in August, the Green Paper, titled ‘A new deal for social housing’, proposes a re-balancing of the relationship between residents and landlords.

With help from Onward, customers attended a series of events hosted by tenant engagement experts Tpas, Steve Beko Housing, and housing minister Kit Malthouse. Onward also held their own sessions and surveys focusing on the five key areas of the consultation paper:

  1. Ensuring safe and decent homes
  2. Effective resolution of complaints
  3. Empowering residents and strengthening the regulator
  4. Tackling stigma and celebrating thriving communities
  5. Expanding supply and supporting home ownership

The events gave customers the opportunity to have their voices heard. During the sessions, customers looked at each of the five areas in more detail, discussing the themes together and providing their feedback and ideas.

Findings from our customer focus groups have been shared with the government as part of Onward’s response to the Green Paper.

We’d like to thank all those customers who took part in this consultation.
