An update on rent convergence
You may have seen that the Government announced some changes earlier this year around rents for social housing tenants. These changes are called rent convergence. We appreciate that you may have questions about what this means and what happens next.
Rent convergence will address cases where some customers may be paying less rent than others for similar homes in the same area because of changes in rent policies over time. For those customers rents will be increased by £1 per week from April 2027 and then £2 per week from April 2028. This approach has been taken to ensure that the changes are manageable, and we will be on hand to support anyone impacted by this. We will write to anyone that this applies to early next year when we usually get in touch about rents and service charges.
