New homes for Stalybridge
Work is underway to bring new affordable homes to Stalybridge, Tameside.
A total of 44 homes for shared ownership and affordable rent have been given the green light in Mereside.
The land, formerly the Samuel Laycock School, is located just off Mereside and will now be transformed into two- and three-bedroom family homes.
Work began on site this week, and Onward is confident that the new homes will be in high demand.
Lin Powell, head of development at Onward, said:
“This is an opportunity to deliver much-needed affordable family homes in area and is an example of the success of partnership-working between Onward, Homes England, the contractor and the Local Authority.”
The development has been funded through a £1,460,000 grant from Homes England and is due to be completed in spring/summer 2019.
