An update on rent and service charges
From the start of April, rents for most of our customers will increase by 4.8%. This is in line with the Government Rent Standard which allows for rent increases of inflation, plus 1%.
The increase in rents means that we can continue to invest in customers’ homes, our neighbourhoods and in improvements to our services. We believe in particular there is more investment needed to improve the standard of homes for the long term. We do recognise that the cost of living is a challenge and are here to help customers that might need extra support.
Some of our customers will also see changes in their service charges, which cover services they receive like cleaning or a scheme manager. You will only pay for service charges that you receive and a full breakdown of costs will be provided.
More details on the changes will be shared in your rent and service charge letters which you will receive in the coming weeks. We understand that you may have questions about what this means and what happens next. You can find out more by taking a look at our Frequently Asked Questions below, which will also be included in your rent and service charge letter. Or, if you have any questions that are not answered by these documents, please call us on 0300 555 0600 or email customerservices@onward.co.uk.
Our Money Advice Team is here to help if you think that you will struggle to pay. The team gives free, confidential advice around budgeting and the support that may be available to you.
