Onward Community Fund

Got a great idea for a community project, but need a little help to get it off the ground? The Onward Community Fund supports local initiatives that share our vision of enabling people to be their best, in a home they love and place they are proud of. 

Since the launch of the Fund in 2020, we have invested roughly £500k in circa 300 community projects across the North West. Whether it’s supporting initiatives that enhance wellbeing, provide crucial digital skills, or create employment opportunities, the Fund directly empowers individuals and communities to thrive. 

In Greater Manchester, UK Yoga CIC’s family focused wellness and nature initiative supported families living in Rochdale through accessible workshops and personalised wellness routines designed to equip them with the skills to support each other’s mental wellbeing and strengthen bonds within the community in local parks and outdoor spaces.  

Over in Lancashire, Maundy Relief expanded its food growing project by increasing food production across its allotments and delivering more produce to nine food banks and pantries across Accrington to support those experiencing social exclusion, financial hardship and ill health.   

And in Merseyside, Team Oasis Children’s Charity delivered an employment project to help local people living in Dingle pursue sustainable employment with targeted workshops, practical work placements and career mentorship.

Apply for the next round of funding

Local organisations and community groups in the North West are invited to apply for a grant of up to £2,500 in the next round of funding which focuses on the theme of Winter resilience.  

We’re keen to support initiatives that will help our communities stay warm, connected, and supported during the colder months. So, whether you’re tackling food poverty, reducing isolation, or boosting wellbeing, we want to hear from you!  

Applications for this round open on the 1st September and close on the 15th October.
